The Road To Infinity: 13.0.0.0.0

There is a road, no simple highway between the dawn and the dark of night. And if you go no one may follow. That path is for your steps alone.

-- Robert Hunter, Ripple

The Winter Solstice is the start of the solar year and the rebirth of the Sun. This emergence out of the darkness and into the light is certainly one of the keys to the Mayan mystery. The Mayan "End of Time" happens eight years from now on the Dec 21 Solstice. Below are the long count dates counting down, something like a car odometer, only with several different calculations beginning with the number for the great cycle or Baktun (144,000 days), second is the Katun (7200 days), the Tun (360 days), Uinal and the last number is the kin (day) and the number of the day-sign which is a 20 day cycle. The Great Cycle is 13 Baktuns 1.872 million or 5125 years. We are moving through to the end of the 12th Baktun and these are the last 8 years of the cycle.

This year the solstice of 7 Etznab (Dec 21, 2004) was said to be the longest night for thousands of years. This has something to do with the way that each year the Earth tilts a bit less on its axis relative to the sun. Over the years there is a gradual shortening of both the longest night and longest day (winter and summer solstice). It will take another 10,000 years before the angle will grow again. Ten thousand years before it will ever be this dark for this long. This journey to the end of time is about learning to navigate our way through the darkness and finding the light within.

Since the Sumatran earthquake and Tsumani hit five days after the solstice on 12 Akbal (December 26) it caused many shifts on the planet. Richard Gross of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, was reported to say that the Sumatra Quake may have altered the Earth's rotation and may have shortened the day by 3 microseconds. If it were not for the atomic clock, we would never know this. Now all calculations are off and what we are feeling, sensing, knowing is more important then ever. This is being shown in the way that the animals had responded to the event. They were protected because of their senses and ability to sense at a higher level.

This is what finding our connection to the organic nature of time and tuning into the Mayan calendar is about. It is an inner knowing of our relation to the earth and sky and learning to be the bridge, the balance and equilibrium between these worlds.

The Mayans used a total of 20 calendar cycles with each one creating an interweaving of varying lengths and purposes. The three most important components of the Mayan calendar are the 365-day Haab cycle, the 5125 long count or Great Cycle and the 260-day cycle of the Tzolkin. The most sacred of these calendar cycles is that of the Tzolkin or Cholquij calendar. It is the cycle that is most connected to the human evolutionary process. It relates both to the human gestation cycle as well as the 26,000-year precessional cycle. The Tzolkin calendar is the center of Mayan time keeping.

By following this 260 day calendar cycle we will learn the essence of Mayan time. It is a living process that opens up and teaches us. It is composed of a series of time-pulses which are 13 day periods that cycle through 20 different evolutionary processes. These 20 processes are expressed in the form of glyphs or day-signs and numbers or tones. This glyphic language holds within its symbology a way to deeply tune into the energetic quality of the calendar. Each day-sign relates to an archetypal energy, an elemental force, a living deity or Deva. It is the same for the numbers. Each one of these energies holds the essence or flavor needed to fully understand what the day's quality can bring through to us. It is a process of cycles and synchronicities. It is a "Tarot of Time."

2005: On the Road to Find out

"There's so much left to know, and I'm on the road to find out."

-- Cat Stevens

The New Sun of the December 21, 2004 solstice begins appropriately during the time-pulse of Eb and its energies are related to the road, to destiny and the human journey. This theme of 'road going' will take us through to the next solstice. The whole year will carry the energies of this 13 day period of Eb and particularly the 7th day of 7 Etznab. The journey or road of Eb can be an easy one or it can be difficult. It is about making choices to go one way or another. It is about our destiny as human beings to do what is right as stewards for the planet. The most important choice is that we take those first steps, with honor and integrity. Because this day falls on the 7th tone of the cycle, our journey this year will be one of the mystic. It will be about surrender and synthesis. The glyph of Etznab is of the mirror, flint or sword and in some ways relates to the Arthurian legend of Excalibur. We will be called on to look into the mirror of ourselves and of others. It is about our ability to wield the sword of truth in all of our undertakings. This choice is the first agreement of the "Four Agreements," written by Toltec teacher Don Miguel Ruiz. It is the agreement that asks us to be impeccable with our word. And that is always a good place to begin.

The 260 day Tzolkin calendar is a harmonic tool that can be used to track the Sun, the Moon, the nodes and eclipses as well as many other planetary cycles such as Venus and Mars. The process of tracking all of this cycles can be very complicated indeed. But it is well worth the effort in its ability to work on so many different multidimensional levels of time. To simplify things and in the interest of offering this yearly report I will focus on the New moon as well as highlighting the more important astrological events as they relate to the Tzolkin cycle, the 13 day pulses and each of the particular day-signs.

(Keywords for each of the day-signs can be found at the end of this report.)

January 2005: Highlights

New Moon in Capricorn: 1 Etznab (Jan 10) Pulse of The Sword of Truth

Chicchan Pulse (12/28/04-1/9/05)

Etznab Pulse (1/10-1/22/05)

Chuen Pulse (1/23-2/04/05)

The pulse of Etznab begins the Dark Moon cycle of Capricorn. This cycle echoes the integrity and impeccability that was asked of us on the Solstice. Capricorn is asking us to make plans and find some structure in our lives. This moon begins the new year with intention. Etznab is about truth or consequences. It is a time of wielding power, but learning how to do so in integrity and service to the greater good. At this point we will be scanning the matrix in one wide-angle lens reality check. It may take some time to see things clearly. Etznab is the blade that cuts through all that is not real with precision and grace. It is the knife or scalpel of the surgeon that will open the wound and heal it. It is a time of living in the now, moment to moment. Capricorn is the mountain goat climbing to the summit, up the rocky slopes with grace and endurance. These very powerful forces mix and bring through to us the energies that will help us focus on our goals.

The last day of the pulse of Etznab is 13 OC (Jan. 22). I have found this point to be one of the most important days within the Tzolkin cycle. It is a fulcrum point within the calendar. This dusk/dawn is where many cycles converge to create a "crack between worlds". The most powerful energies will be felt at dusk when the veils are thinnest. The day after begins one of the more magical periods of the calendar, the time-pulse of Chuen, the Monkey.

The third day of this pulse will take us to the full moon of 3 Ben (Jan 25) and through to the end of the month.

February 2005: Highlights

Year of the Phoenix New Moon in Aquarius:

4 Manik (Feb 8) Pulse of Kan, The Seed

Chiron in Aquarius: 4 Ahau (2/21/05-2/8/11)

Kan Pulse (2/05-2/17/05)

Caban Pulse (2/18-3/2/05)

This is a powerful month of anchoring our wishes and dreaming the future. The time-pulse of Kan begins on February 5, 2005. The fourth day of the pulse, 4 Manik (Feb 8) is the New moon in Aquarius. Kan is the pulse that relates to the future and Manik is the deer, the helping and healing hand of the humanitarian. This new moon is related to Chinese year of the Phoenix, it is a time to rebuild our world from the ashes of the old. Chiron in Aquarius: Shape-shifting and Reality-splitting Probably one of the most important days of this month and for many months and years to come is the journey of Chiron through Aquarius for the first time since 1961. It is a journey that will take us close to the end date of the Mayan calendar, 11 Etznab (Feb 8, 2011.) This is where the road gets a bit uncertain. Chiron makes sure of that.

Chiron moves into Aquarius on 4 Ahau (Feb 21.) This is the fourth day of the time-pulse of Caban. It is the same date in the Tzolkin that marks the end of the great cycle of the calendar. Ahau is the day-sign of the sun or the Ancestors, it is about enlightenment. Caban is the glyph that relates to the Earthquake or Phoenix. The imagery of Caban is also related to the Phoenix. This time is about the rising of awareness. In Egypt the Phoenix is called Bennu, the sacred bird of Heliopolis. The Bennu bird held a major role in Egyptian mythology and it was in Heliopolis, the "City of the Sun" where all the works of creation began. Phoenix is about rebirth and death. Just as the new sun rises from the old, the Phoenix is reborn. The fourth day is always an anchor point in the cycle of 13. With Ahau relating to the Sun and enlightenment this day is the anchoring and grounding of those qualities. On this day of 4 Ahau and for the coming cycle of Chiron all things "Aquarian" will be highlighted. When Chiron enters a new sign all the world will be focused on the energies and root issues of this sign. With Chiron in Capricorn we were learning how to master empowerment vs. power-over. Many of us are already feeling a disappointment in how those in power have been handling their roles. This year as Chiron moves into Aquarius and Saturn moves into Leo forming new challenges in their opposition we will have some significant changes in the ways of those in leadership. The children of the Sun are becoming restless.

While Chiron is moving into a more humanitarian sign all of us will be called upon to pull together our world community. This will be a joint undertaking, and no one will be left behind. This is a year of one supporting the other. Chiron is the Shamanic shape-shifter and reality-splitter of the cosmos and what needs to be healed could happen in an instant. We will feel the ripples in more ways than one. There will be a "Quickening" but our response may not be so instantaneous. It may take some time for things to shift within the community, but again there will be a change that is felt on the collective level as we become more able to tune into that mass consciousness. We have all the way to Feb 8, 2011 to learn to embody these changes within ourselves. And lots of ways to ground these new energies will be needed. After 2011, when Chiron moves on into the sign of Pisces, we will clearly be moving into the field of the transcendent. Chiron is the bridge that will take us through the coming years into the infinite beyond. Chiron was the teacher of hero's and warriors.

These next years will be our guide through to the end of time as we know it, to heal our wounds and teach us how to walk the path of the champion.

March 2005: Highlights

New Moon in Pisces: 8 Caban (March 10) Pulse of Oc, The Dog

Mercury stations Retrograde in Aries: 4 Cimi (March 19), Pulse of Akbal, The Night

Spring Equinox: 5 Lamat (March 21), Pulse of Akbal (Night)

Oc Pulse (3/03-3/15/05)

Akbal Pulse (3/16-3/28/05)

Cib Pulse (3/29-4/10/05)

The New Moon in Pisces will be on the day of 8 Caban (March 10) during the 13 day pulse of Oc. This period of the Dog is about service, love and loyalty. The energies of 8 Caban are about integrity, intelligence and synchronicity. The eighth day is an 'integrity check' and Caban is about the movement and motion of the Earth. It relates to cycles of evolution and rebirth. It is a day of transformation and high wisdom. This is a point of synchronization within the cycle of service. The eighth day of Caban will ask us to make clear choices in our ability to serve the higher mind. The cycle of the Dog will bring through experiences of relationship, community and lessons of interdependence. These days it is good to pay attention to those you are meeting and how they fit into your life. Important connections may result.

The Pisces New Moon will bring us closer to those relationships that are connected to our soul and destiny. It is a time of deep feeling and compassion. These may be souls who have been there with us, and worked side by side through many lifetimes. The twin brother of the Feathered Serpent, Quetzalcoatl was named Xolotl and relates to the day-sign of Oc. Xolotl is the underworld aspect of the dog and like the Egyptian Anubis, he represents the guide and guardian of our journey through the darkness. This leads us into the next pulse of Akbal, the pulse of the night and the dreamtime. During our movement through the time-pulse of Akbal we will be learning to carry our inner light through the darkness.

The pulse of Akbal is about the night and the Shamanic journey of the dreamer. The next few days will ask us to look deeply into ourselves and see where we can fully bring our uniqueness into alignment with the whole. Akbal is the day-sign of the dreamtime, of inner space, of the home and hearth. It can also be seen as representative of the womb, and of creation. Akbal is also associated to the Great Orion Nebula M42, that forms the fire in the belt or hearth of Orion. It is the hearth fire that burns brightly in the solar plexus of our galactic natures. This is a powerful galactic point that is in the 22nd degree of Gemini.

This years Equinox falls on the day-sign of 6 Lamat and is a time of celebration of new life and the balance of light and dark. Nothing is ever clearly light or dark, right or wrong, black or white. We must always learn to balance these energies. This state of perfect balance is the way of Peace and the Tao. As Mercury stations on the day of 4 Cimi (March 19) the symbol of death and transmutation, it will take a few days to see our way through these new energies. We will be rethinking ways to best express ourselves at the deepest level of our being. This is no ordinary journey for us to find that balance within ourselves.

By 6 Lamat (March 21) we will have some clarity around the nature of the deeper journey into self that will be asked of us. The sixth day will take us into a new flow and teach us about stabilizing what has changed over the last few days. This is a day of balance, and at the same time it acts as a station and a preparation point for our next step in the cycle. The day-sign or glyph of Lamat is represented by the rabbit and on this day of shifting and stabilzing energies we will feel a pull for new expressions. Lamat is about expansions, creation and growth. It holds the fertility of the rabbit and it is the spreading out of many dimensions of possibilities. In its trickster aspect it also teaches us what might happen if we expand too fast or go too far out.

April 2005: Highlights

Eclipse Season Begins: Reality - Impeccability Check

New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Aries: 11 Cimi (April 8)Pulse of Cib, The Impeccable Warrior

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Scorpio: 1 Ik (April 24), Pulse of the Wind

Mercury Stations Direct 1 degree Aries: 1 Muluc (April 11) Pulse of the Karmic Waters

Cib Pulse (3/29-4/10/05)

Muluc Pulse (4/11-4/23/05)

Ik Pulse (4/24-5/6/05)

The New Moon/Solar Eclipse happens on the day-sign of 11 Cimi (April 8) during the time-pulse of Cib. This time period represents the Impeccable Warrior and holds the essence of the way-shower. Cib is similar to the hermit card in the tarot who sheds light and brings us through the darkness of the soul's journey. It expresses the connections to a divine source will seem to have great potential. We can almost feel the touch of a guiding force, lying somewhere in between the physical and non-physical realms, something that is as quiet and hidden as the flight of an owl in the darkness. If we have felt alone in the world, this day will help us understand that we are never alone. It may take some time to trust what is coming through. Made up of the particles of ancient stars, we are cosmic transmitters. Cib shows us that we will always have access to our origination point and be a conduit to the galactic realms.

The eleventh day of Cimi is about dissolution and transmuting into new forms. These energies run through our body like a lightning rod. This is a time when much of our energy is feeling pulled away or moving outside of our immediate environment. There is a sense that a part of us is floating outside of our bodies, perhaps not "real," but deeply grounded. We may feel detached, as though we are looking at things from a distance. What we will experience now will be difficult to explain, but many things are stirring beneath the surface. A solar eclipse means the Sun is hidden, i.e., our identity, personality and some core quality will begin to fall away. It is the darkening of the light. It is a time of uncertainty and represents that which we do not know or have control of within our lives. It is a time when we are being asked to go within and find lost fragments of ourselves. It is a passage or gateway into the mystery. If we allow ourselves to enter into these mystical realms it can be an intense time of initiation and awakening. The lunar nodal axis is the vehicle through which the eclipses happen and this cycle is intimately connected with the Mayan time-cycles of gestation, creation and spiritual evolution.

The Nodal axis where the where the Moon's orbital path around the Earth intersects with the orbital path of the Earth around the Sun. It is the symbolic synthesis of the Sun and the Moon and a merging of the male/female/yin/yang aspects within ourselves. This mystical definition of space relates directly to the souls desire to release the past and move on. It opens up a gateway in time to help us move quickly through to the next cycle of evolution. By learning to follow the Mayan evolutionary cycle along with the eclipse cycle and as it relates to our own astrology we are able to speed up this purging/merging and ascension process exponentially.

Eclipse energy is in effect for three months prior and three months after the eclipse actually happens. There are always two (sometimes three) eclipses within the same season. Eclipses occur, on the average every 173.33 days. This is called the eclipse "half-year." Three of these cycles are equal to two Mayan Tzolkin cycles (260 days x 2 = 520). This means that every other eclipse will fall on certain days within the same sequence of the 13 day pulse cycles of the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. The Mayans were able to calculate eclipses based on this 260 day cycle. This is where the sacred aspects of the calendar and the earth calendar intersect.

It is important to understand that the Mayan calendar is not just about non-ordinary reality. It helps us to access all of our senses and both our physical and non-physical reality. It can become the tool that helps us to find the bridge between these realms. This cycle is a calculator for many other planetary cycles and retrograde periods. In this way, the calendar can act as a liaison between the known world and that world that is just beyond our senses.

The Lunar Eclipse happens during the time-pulse of Ik. It is the time of the wind, the divine breath. Ik is the communicator of the Mayan day-signs. Ik speaks its mind and says what it thinks. This is a day of movement, sound and acceleration. Ik can be the tornado, the eye of the storm and the threading of the needle through it. In the Cherokee calendar, the "Whirlwind" is the "Lord of the Dance," and the 13th bird that travels around the Pole Star. This Scorpio Eclipse is closely tied to Ik as it is on the first day of the pulse. This eclipse will take us through the path of the Whirlwind and help to clear our way to freedom in each moment with each breath.

May 2005: Highlights

New Moon in Taurus: 2 Cib (May 8) Pulse of Men, the Eagle

Chiron Station Retrograde 3 degrees Aquarius: 2 Cib (May 8)

Men Pulse (5/7-5/19/05)

Lamat Pulse (5/20-6/1/05)

Both the Chiron station and the New Moon in Taurus happen on the second day in the time-pulse of the planetary visionary and Eagle, Men. It is a time that will encourage us to see the larger scheme of things, and set our visions into motion. There will be a need to keep still and contemplate which direction we are headed. Although the safety and security of our home and comfort will look very desirable during this month, we have some things to consider and process. Men is the eagle eye that will bring through visionary abilities and learn to soar above and beyond the mundane. This month's energies will bring forth a creative and curiously wise mystical nature. Under the influence of the energies of Men, we will begin to see things with clarity and an expanded vision. Take this time and consider what we can do to make some changes. Eagle is the planetary visionary who oversees the care taking of the planet. In the Cherokee calendar eagles were the protectors of the Nation. This is the symbol of the mighty thunderbird who keeps watch over the skies. Men is the day-sign which has the ability to envision far reaching possibilities and see beyond the self.

June 2005: Highlights

New Moon in Gemini: 5 Chicchan (June 6) Pulse of Imix, The Primordial Mother

Summer Solstice: 7 Ahau (June 21)Pulse of Ix, The Jaguar Shaman

Imix Pulse (6/2-6/14/05)

Ix Pulse (6/15-6/27/05)

Manik Pulse (6/28-7/10/05)

This month is about the Earth, the Sacred Feminine and new beginnings as the nine month gestation cycle of the Tzolkin begins with 1 Imix on June 2, 2005. The day-sign of Imix is the primordial mother. This day is like a new birth. Whatever you have been incubating or waiting for is about to happen. The gates are about to open to a new world. Imix is the glyph that represents the new cycle of evolution. It is the source, the beginning. Imix is the cosmic mother. It is a symbol of the cosmic breast that nurtures all beings. In the Cherokee calendar these energies are connected to one of the stars within the belt of Orion, a star which our indigenous ancestors believed to be the "Cosmic egg." It is from this egg that the Earth was born. When we find ourselves in meditation and ritual to honor these cosmic and earthly forces we will bring to ourselves a deeper truth than has ever been known. Faith does not happen overnight, like the path of the turtle it is slow-moving, diligent and single minded.

With Imix we are being asked to look deeper into that faith, deeper than any previous doctrine may have revealed. This is the end of the old way and the beginning of the new. Imix is about being reborn into the Tao, a state of mind (no-mind), starting over without expectations.

The Solstice will happen on 7 Ahau (6/21) during Ix, the seventh day of the Mystic in the second time-pulse of the Tzolkin calendar. On the first day of the pulse of Ix, the Jaguar Shaman, the ruler of Aquarius, Uranus will station retrograde. There will be shift felt in the Aquarian changes that have been happening in our current events. Much more will be happening behind the scenes. Ix relates to the Shaman, to time travel and timelessness.

July 2005: Highlights

New Moon in Cancer: 9 Men (July 6) Pulse of Manik, the Deer

Saturn into Leo: (7/05-9/07) 6 Chicchan (July 16)Pulse of Ahau, The Ancestors Chiron opposes Saturn: 11 Oc (July 21) Pulse of Ahau (Ancestors)

Chiron Retrogrades into Capricorn 8 Ahau (July 31), Pulse of Ben, The Reed

Manik Pulse (6/28-7/10/05)

Ahau Pulse (7/11-7/23/05)

Ben Pulse (7/24-8/5/05)

The new moon will happen on 9 Men, in the time-pulse of Manik, the deer. It is a time that represents artistry, gentleness and compassion. This symbol also represents the hand that reaches to the heavens and brings the stars down to earth. The symbol of Manik represents our first journey into cosmic consciousness. We are creators of great proportion and the ancient records of enlightenment and resurrection are merely a metaphor for our present day ascension process. This process is threefold. And Manik asks us to find the sacred balance. Manik relates to compassion, love and the mind of the heart. But the shadow side of the deer is one of sacrifice. The deer is willing to give it's life to feed the planet. But know that when we compassionately offer ourselves up to the service of others it can be out of innocence or ignorance. There is a difference. This would be a time to clearly know what it is you are giving up and if it is for the right cause. We cannot hide from the truth and we cannot hide from ourselves. What is happening "out there," is only a reflection of what is inside each one of us. We all hold some responsibility for the whole of humanity. How much will have to happen for us to stop this tendency of being passive/aggressive in the way we deal with own or the worlds problems. So much of what we as a culture are feeling has been under the surface and now that "something" has to give. We must speak from our truth. Look around, the generational buck seems to have made it's last pass. And as the Hopi's say, "We are the ones we have been waiting for." The choices we make here and now can change our world for the better or keep us under a cloud of illusion. It all begins with us. Not tomorrow. Today.

New Moon in Leo: 12 Kan (8/4) The Pulse of Ben

Ben Pulse (7/24-8/5/05)

Cimi Pulse (8/6-8/18/05)

Cauac (8/19-8/31/05)

The New Moon is in Leo in the pulse of the day-sign of Ben. The essence of Ben is about making our ideas known and this day will bring forth some qualities within ourselves that help to build and create a new power and presence. It is a time that will have us manifesting our convictions. When we believe something to be true it usually happens. This is the day-sign of people who set out to change the world. We can do this by changing our minds or by changing our beliefs.

Ben is the day sign most connected to the god Quetzacotal/ Kulkulkan, which also relates to Venus, as the morning star symbol of this diety. Ben was thought to be the birth-sign of this feathered serpent, and a day in the cycle when the gods descended to earth. The belief that he did return came in the form of Hernado Cortez in the year of One Reed (1 Ben). It was on Nov. 8, 1519 that Cortez was received by Montezuma, the emperor of what is now Mexico City (Tenochtitlan). The belief that Cortez was a god, was what eventually brought down the Aztec empire.

During the years after the conquest many of the indigenous people were killed in the name of the one god religion of Christianity. In less than 20 years a native Indian peasant had a vision which helped to become the bridge between these two systems of belief. Juan Diego lived in the town of Tepeyac, which also was home to the shrine of the Aztec mother goddess, Teotonantzin. It was in 1531 that he had the vision of what is now known as "Our Lady." Her message was that she was the Mother of the True God and her image was imprinted on his cactus-cloth cloak. After years of persecution and torture the Aztec-Mayan people now had some way to relate to this new religion, and they now had something they could believe in.

New Moon in Virgo: 1 Eb (Sept 1) The Pulse of the Road

Eb (9/1-9/13/05)

Chicchan (9/14-9/26/05)

Etznab (9/27-10/9/05)

Today's New Moon in Virgo happens on the first day of the pulse of EB. This is the pulse that clears the way for a precipitation of consciousness. During this period we are being asked to open our minds to a greater, "Holographic," vision of reality. (See Eb Pulse from January)

October 2005: Highlights

Eclipse Season: Centering in Time

New Moon/Solar Eclipse in Libra: 7 Kan (Oct 3) Pulse of the Sword of Truth

Full Moon/Lunar Eclipse in Aries: 8 Etznab (Oct 17)

Pulse of The Monkey Mars SR 5 Ik (Oct 1) Pulse of the Mirror, Etznab

Etznab (9/27-10/9/05) Chuen (10/10-10/22/05) Kan (10/23-11/4/05)

These October eclipses are the series of eclipses that happen during the central column of the calendar. These "core" days that begin on 4 Imix and end on 10 Ahau (Sept 30 - Oct 19) are always filled with an intensity that is very similar to an eclipse energy. This eclipse energy is carried on from one Tzolkin cycle to the next even if we are not having the immediate experience of the eclipse. This is why following the Mayan dates and Time-pulses can lead to rich experiences as we are able to re-enter the gaps in time that are created by the movement of the Earth.

The Solar eclipse in Libra happens during the time-pulse of Etznab, the sword of truth and wisdom. The essence here can be related to the sword of Excalibur and King Arthur. It is about learning to express the nobility and truth within. This is about wielding power, but learning how to do so in integrity and in service to the greater good. This balance is a fine line and not so often mastered. Power is addictive and once tasted not so easily given away. There is a sacrifice that must be made, and that is ego. This two-sided mirror can be of service or destruction. We decide how we want to play the game. As we meditate on how we choose to work with the new energies in the pulse that is ahead of us, our intentions are set and the pulse begins its forward motion.

The Lunar eclipse in Aries happens during the time-pulse of Chuen, the monkey. It is about learning to navigate the cosmic weave of time-space, reality and dreams. Chuen is the day-sign most likely to become a day-keeper and master of time. Chuen is about understanding the tapestry of our lives and making sure that each thread is appropriately stitched into place. This is not about perfection or imperfection. It is about time as art. About life as art. It is about knowing that beauty and quality are not just something to write poems and philosophize about. We are here to create and to live out our lives with brilliant and magnificent colors.

Chuen, the artist, is about understanding the reality and the illusion. It is about shamanism, magic and the memory and resonance of a weave that connects us all. It is about learning to understand and flow with these patternings and laws of nature, these quantum laws that can be chaotic and nonsensical. It is about being a traveler in time, surfing through the Mayan "Zuvuya," where everything returns to its source. Chuen is where all paradigms are interweaving with one another in the backwards-forwards nature of time and we will be learning to flow with all of it. If we are into structure and form, this time-pulse may make us feel uneasy. But we will learn a lot from Chuen, through Chuen we can be masters of change.

November 2005: Highlights

New Moon in Scorpio: 10 Ben (Nov 1) Pulse of Kan, New Beginnings

Caban (11/05-11/17/05)

Oc (11/18/05-11/30/05)

The New Moon in Scorpio happens during the time-pulse of Kan and is represented by the seed. The animal totem for Kan is the lizard. Kan is about pure potentiality. It is like popcorn and the manifestation qualities that are inherent in every seed moment. Kan is about new beginnings, it is about the future. The pulse of Kan is in the 8th column of the Tzolkin calendar. In this column there are a string of 10 days which represent our future. These days are like dark rifts in the galaxy or like the veils between worlds. We will be feeling these days as strong pulls at our unconscious yearnings. Much is happening at a very deep inner layer and without expectations we will learn to become a master of the unknown.

December 2005: Highlights

New Moon In Sagittarius: 1 Akbal (Dec 1) Pulse of The Night

New Moon in Capricorn: 4 Eb (Dec 30) Pulse of The Moon

Akbal (12/1-12/13/05)

Cib (12/14-12/26)

Muluc (12/27-1/8/06)

The New Moon in Sagittarius happens during the time-pulse of Akbal. The pulse of Akbal is about the night and the shamanism journey of the dreamer. Akbal as the day sign of the nighttime and dreamtime is the glyph of inner space, of the home and hearth. It can also be seen as representative of the womb, and of creation. Akbal is also associated to the Great Orion Nebula M42, that forms the fire in the belt of Orion. It is the hearth fire that burns brightly in the solar plexus of our galactic natures. The second New moon of this month will be in the pulse of the moon, Muluc. It is the day-sign that relates us to the power of our past and the power to purify and release what is no longer needed. It is about uncovering and releasing our hidden layers as expressed in the image of the Moon. The milky way galaxy and the river of stars that seem to go on forever are also a symbol of this day-sign.
